I'm in Love With.................

Marsha Ambrosius' "Lose Myself".  This song has been on repeat at work, in my car and on my everyday stroll in the last week or so as I contemplate allowing myself to be more vulnerable in "like".  A song that implores that we let go in love a little to give more to the person/people we care about dispite the hurt we may carry from prior relationships. The melody is so calm and her voice on the track is soulful. It's okay to be a bit vulnerable and I may be ready to take her advise...................................

"I had a paralyzing fear of facing failure
And I couldn’t love you perfectly with that fear in my head
So I perilously had to face the danger
So I could come back and love you whole instead"

Night Time Routine - The Pineapple

Twist Out - Day 4 and Counting!

Way to stretch a twist out!  I'm on day 4, its super big, a bit bushy, messy, frizzy, the list goes on.  Day 5 I'll more than likely throw it into an updo for the office because frankly I'm a bit bored with it.  I want more color! My highlights are WAY too subtle and I want MORE!

After the break, a picture of Day 2 hair and the rest are the end of Day 4 after an intense workout.

When in Doubt, Twist Out!!

My ultimate Go-2 Hair Do is the Twist Out!  Twist Out's give me the ultimate uniform curl definition and they are the quickest style for me.  I like Twist Out's better than wash and go's because I do not have a uniform curl pattern.  My curls on the left side are a bit looser than those on the right and the curls in the back are much more curly than those in the front.  For my twist outs I do large twists on my 4a, fine textured hair.  Larger twists allow me to blend the looser curls with the tighter curls so when they dry, they dry in a uniform texture similiar to the tighter curl pattern.  Go-2 products for my twist outs and most styles i'll attempt are....

  1. Water
  2. Kinky Curly Knot Today ($11.99 at most Target Stores)
  3. Coconut Oil (Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin)
  4. Optional: Kinky Curly Curling Custard (Applied when I want more hold to my twist out. The below twists were done using the KCCC)
My product junky ism has come along way since this curly nikki spot I did http://www.curlynikki.com/2009/09/ayanah-naturally-glam-hair-idol.html
